INSPIRATION

Mary Blair (1911-1978) was one of Walt Disney's most brilliant conceptual designers, helping define the look of such characters as Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan during her thirty years as an artist with the company. In addition to her work on animated films, Blair brought her unique style to children's books, advertisements, theatrical set designs, and theme park attractions. She remains one of the most respected artists in the history of animation.

Kal Gajoum was born in Tripoli in 1968. His interest in art was sparked at a very young age. In fact, he was only ten when he entered his first art competition. Later on he was introduced to oil painting and palette life techniques by a friend of the family. He held his first exhibition in 1983 in Tripoli.

He moved to Paris to learn watercolor techniques and the Parisian style of painting from a private artist. In Malta he spent his time as a professional artist where he spent seven years working for the Royal Fine Art Gallery while continuing his pursuit of artistic knowledge.

In 2000, he found himself in Britain where he ran the Center

Of Britain Art Gallery. He started a permanent exhibition in the City of Carlisle where he steadily developed  his palette knife techniques and put together a setof four limited edition watercolor prints of the city.

In 2003, Gajoum immigrated to Canada where he resides in British Columbia, Quebec and France. He now concentrates on cityscapes and still life's using his palette knife techniques in oil on canvas.

Pascal Campion is a French-American illustrator and animator residing in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2000, after graduation from the Arts Decoratifs de Strasbourg with a diploma in Narrative Illustration, Pascal's brother built him a new tool: a computer.

It was the beginning of a new form of art and a digital artist was born. In 2006 Pascal began to truly develop his own art and style, but lacking time, he had to come up with an efficient solution. It was then that "Sketch of the Day" was born: everyday he creates a sketch and story unto itself.

This routine has yielded and archive of close to 3,000 sketches. As a freelance artist since 2007, Pascal has worn many hats in the art world; from conceptual design to visual development for feature films and television, to creating commercial animations for clients such as Chevron and Disney.
